Troy Wiseman Presents Bamboo Pioneers Awards At World Bamboo Congress
18th April 2012
EcoPlanet Bamboo and the World Bamboo Organization paid homage to five inspirational individuals whom have committed their lives to furthering a global understanding of bamboo. EcoPlanet Bamboo's CEO and Co-Founder, Troy Wiseman had the honor of presenting the awards.
The bamboo industry is reaching a tipping point, with the development of new technology for modern applications of processed bamboo, as well as increasing global focus on the need for a sustainable alternative.
However, this tipping point would not have been reached without the life long dedication of bamboo pioneers, working across diverse aspects of the field. These bamboo pioneers have led the way for new discoveries in the science, management, and application of this unique plant.
EcoPlanet Bamboo had the honor last week of supporting five of these pioneers to be acknowledged and their many decades of work and perseverance recognized, as the bamboo world gathered at the World Bamboo Congress in Antwerp.
Although not all of these great individuals were able to be present, they were supported via live streaming of the awards ceremony in their home countries, which ranged across the globe from Colombia to Japan.
- Oscar Hidalgo Lopez (Colombia)
- Wenyu Hsiung (China)
- Jules Janssen (Belgium)
- Shuen Chao Wu (Taiwan)
- Masatoshi Watanabe (Japan)
EcoPlanet Bamboo CEO Troy Wiseman had the honor of presenting these individuals with their awards and learning more about the immense dedication each individual has committed to further the bamboo agenda.
Thanks go to Susanne Lucas and the World Bamboo Organization for the many months of work and dedication needed in the bringing together of bamboo experts and enthusiasts.
