EcoPlanet Bamboo UN Global Compact COP 2017
As an active paticipant in the United Nations Global Compact, EcoPlanet Bamboo has completed the company's 2017 Communication on Progress, achieving Global Compact Active level.
The UN Global Compact is a United Nations initiative that is based on CEO commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to take steps to support UN goals. As CEO of EcoPlanet Bamboo, Troy Wiseman made a commitment in 2016. Now, a year following that commitment, EcoPlanet Bamboo has submitted the 2017 COP maintaining the company's commitment to the initiative.
EcoPlanet Bamboo is an active participant in a number of UN frameworks, and actively contributes to achieving implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. EcoPlanet Bamboo's stringent framework of social and environmental sustainability has been recognized by the World Bank's MIGA as an example of how "Business Can Be Good For The Environment", and has led to the acquisition of multiple certification standards for the company's Nicaragua and South Africa plantations. Troy Wiseman's commitment to the UN Global Compact re-affirms the company's culture around this globally accepted framework.
In addition to the company's strict environmental and social criteria having received international recognition, EcoPlanet's Foundation carries out additional projects to trigger and sustain long term positive development across all areas of operation.
