The Global Restoration Council, a group of high-profile champions for land restoration, held its inaugural meeting in Bonn, Germany on July 20-21, 2016, hosted by German Minister for the Environment Barbara Hendricks and the World Resources Institute.

EcoPlanet Bamboo's investment into forest landscape restoration to date across the company's operations to date, as well as the various barriers to the scaling up of such projects, was highlighted during various panels.

EcoPlanet Bamboo currently has more than 35,000 acres undergoing forest landscape restoration on two continents and three countries, in Nicaragua, South Africa and Ghana. These projects reconnect remnant forest patches, provide a suite of ecosystem benefits, and provide sustainable livelihoods for more than 750 people in some of the world's poorest communities.
