The restoration economy: why trees are the next growth opportunity
Angeli Mehta reports on private-sector efforts to replenish natural capital by rehabilitating degraded land
EcoPlanet Bamboo has been featured in a March 2018 article by Ethical Corp. This recent edition of the magazine focused on "Green Growth - the drive to put natural capital at the heart of business", and the specific article featuring EcoPlanet Bamboo builds on a report released by the World Resources Institute and The Nature Conservancy earlier this year, entitled The Business of Growing Trees - A Growing Investment Opportunity.
Over the past few years EcoPlanet Bamboo has become a strong advocate for a paradigm shift in traditional capitalism towards conscious capitalism, where private sector resource and land management projects become part of the solution towards positive environmental and social development, rather than drivers of destruction.
As a company EcoPlanet Bamboo has focused on an integrated solution for communities, regions and governments to provide a market driven solution to deforestation, while restoring degraded lands and enabling the emergence of domestic green industries in some of the poorest parts of the planet. Despite the loss of the company's original debt funder in 2015, the founders and key management of EcoPlanet Bamboo have worked unwaveringly towards the company's mission, vision and global expansion.
With a number of new plantation and manufacturing partnerships under development, as well as the upcoming launch of new geographic operations, EcoPlanet Bamboo is driving a paradigm shift towards the restoration economy.< Back to news < Download article
